Chombo- Sadiki back as Under-20 Women’s coach
Women’s football legend Maggie Chombo-Sadiki is back as the Ma lawi Under-20 Women’s Football National Team coach.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in a statement said the FCB Nyasa Bullets Women’s coach will be in charge ahead of the 2026 Under-20 Fifa Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The association said the former Scorchers’ captain, who was the senior women’s football national team assistant coach until her latest appointment, will have John Chimwala as her first assistant and Scholastica Khunga as second assistant.

The technical panel also has Patricia Makwakwa as fitness coach, Wilson Mkandawire as goalkeepers coach, Lina Mtegha as the team manager (safeguarding), Martha Chimwala as the physiotherapist and Salome Chirwa as team doctor.
Chombo-Sadiki, who has since named a 31-member squad to face the Central African Republic in the World Cup qualifiers at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on May 11 before the return match at the same venue on May 18, said yesterday she could not comment on her appointment.
She was last in charge of the Under-20 team in 2021 during the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Chombo-Sadiki is one of the country’s highly qualified women’s football coaches as she holds a CAF A coaching licence.
